Events, Festivals, Industry Expos and Corporate Functions.

Events, festivals, industry expos and corporate functions all require dynamic branding and marketing in order to become successful. The ultimate goal of any event is to attract large numbers of people in order to produce an attractive economic and social outcome. Festival and events are indeed economic drivers for comminutes and have the power to bring serious dollars into a region.

Over the years Barking Toad have been instrumental in the success of a variety of local events. In 2005 we were appointed the sole marketing and promotional company for the festival of Speed on Tweed which, under our guidance, grew into the premier historic race event in Australia. Our association with this event continued for 7 years until recently when the funding for the event was withdrawn by the organisers.

In 2009 we were appointed the advertising and marketing agency for the World Rally Championships - Repco Rally Australia stage in the Tweed and Kyogle Shire. This was an extremely successful event which drew in excess of 87,000 spectators far exceeding expectations from the organisers of the event.

We designed and produced all of their marketing collateral including a 100 page combined Speed on Tweed/WRC event program, ads, posters, billboards, tickets, event merchandise and sponsorship packages. The event was driven from our shire to Coffs Harbour because of protests by extreme “Green activists” and with it went all of the economic potential for our Shire.

COOLY ROCKS ON - Coolangatta Gold Coast

When the ever popular Wintersun Festival was relocated by the organisers to Port Macquarie from Coolangatta and task force was put in place to organise a replacement festival for the region.
In May 2010 Barking Toad submitted these alternative names for the soon to be created event:
Endless Summer Rock'n Roll Festival, Surfside Rock'n Roll Festival, Jittersun Rock'n Roll Festival, TwinCity Rock'n Roll Festival, Cooly Rocks Festival

The organisation adopted the ‘Cooly Rocks On’ name and they were off and running. They ran their own marketing and promotion and contracted us to produced their inaugural program for the event. We created a 60 page ‘coffee table style’ publication which assisted in the overall professional presentation of the event. ‘Cooly Rocks on’ was extremely successful in its first year and the 2012 event is shaping up to be a winner as well.

In 2011 the organisers of the Unity Festival asked us to assist in the re branding and general operations of the event. Part of the re branding included the development an satellite event called Foodie Friday. This event was designed to showcase home grown music, local food producers and restaurants in the region. This inaugural event was an overwhelming success and is likely to become it’s own identity in the future.

Foodie Friday and Unity Festival
This local event was held at the Murwillumbah Showground in October 2011. Foodie Friday was an overwhelming success and ended up as a huge dinner party for over 500 hungry and happy patrons. Since then the festival has grown and in 2014 we are holding 3 satelite events before the main event in November. This main event will see more than 4000 people seated for a diner of tasting plates presented by resturants from all over the Tweed Shire featuring fresh local produce.
